Reid Collects $1.1 Million from Property He Didn’t Own

The Associated Press reported in 2006 that Senator Reid received $1.1 million on land sold even though he hadn’t owned it in three years.  The land deal was organized by Jay Brown, Reid friend and figure in a major bribery trial.  In 2001 he sold the land for the same price to a corporation owned by Brown but failed to disclose it on his annual public ethics report or notify Congress of his interest in the company.
