Reality
There have been 2.6 million jobs lost since Obama and Democrats passed Stimulus Bill. 2.3 million private sector jobs lost since Obama and the Democrats passed stimulus. Almost 15 million people are out of work. - Myth
Stimulus worked and stimulus money created 3 million jobs.
Reality
Recovery.gov counted and the amount of jobs stimulus created under 751,000. These are mostly government jobs, not private sector. Which means no growth to GDP. No money back in the economy. - Myth
The stimulus will not be a burden on taxpayers.
Reality
The stimulus bill cost $814 billion and for every job created under stimulus, it would cost taxpayers $187,000. - Myth
Obama had more employment than Bush
Reality
Under entire Bush Presidency the total net employment was up 1.08 million and Obama Presidency so far: Total net employment down by 3.3 million jobs. - Myth
Obama says stimulus will “redound” the private sector.
Reality
Bush Presidency: Private Sector employment shrank by 673,000 jobs. Obama Presidency so far: Private Sector has shed about 2.9 million jobs. Most Americans say stimulus has not helped middle class. - Myth
Obama has made progress on employment
Reality
Under President Obama so far, the unemployment rate reached record highs (Nevada) and continues to grow. Specifically, Unemployment hit 9.5 percent for 14 months in a row, the longest time of unemployment since the Great Depression of the 1930s. - Myth
Government jobs are equal to private sector jobs
Reality
WSJ article states personal incomes fell across the nation in 223 metro areas. In the areas that saw gains, most of them were because of government jobs. Plus in the areas that saw gains, most of them were because of government jobs. Government workers make 60% more than the private sector and four times as much in benefits. - Myth
No pork projects in the stimulus
Reality
$18 million went into the Stimulus Website design. Every sign you see advertising Obama's stimulus, "Project Funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery" cost taxpayers up to $3000 a piece. One state has spent $500,000 on stimulus signs. - Myth
The stimulus was successful
Reality
The stimulus failed to create the number of jobs worth it to pay for the stimulus package. Vice President Joe Biden even said the White House “misread” the economy when they passed stimulus. President Obama disagreed and said there is nothing he would have done differently. - Myth

Obama is an advocate for small business
Reality
Small business owners have seen their capital gains taxes, payroll tax, and estate taxes increase since Obama took office. He has also passed a bill that was hidden in the healthcare reform requiring small businesses to report all transactions over $600 to the IRS with a 1099 form. This allows the government to spend more private sector money. - Myth: Obama says the moratorium form the BP Oil spill will create jobs and clean energy.
Reality
It has cost Americans 12,000 jobs and 36 rigs have been put out of work and will cost roughly 23,000 jobs. If you’re saying to yourself, well Obama lifted the moratorium, don’t get too excited. They still have to issue permits to start drilling which is likely to not happen and Obama has put a de facto ban on all energy investment in the Gulf. The Interior has only issued 10% of permits that they usually do. - Myth: Cap and Trade is a comprehensive energy and climate bill with incentives that will finally make clean energy the profitable kind of energy in America
Reality: Net job losses approach 1.9 million in 2012 and could approach 2.5 million by 2035. Manufacturing loses 1.4 million jobs in 2035. It would also American taxpayers $200 billion a year. It would cost American household up to $ 1,761 a year. - Myth
Obama says stimulus will create shovel-ready projects
Reality
Obama said in an article in the NY times that he let himself become “the same old tax-and-spend liberal Democrat,” and realized that “there’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects.” - Myth
Obamacare will help small businesses to create jobs and keep people on the payroll
Reality
Payroll taxes up to 8% will discourage small business and cause companies not to hire, which in turn kill jobs. The more employers have to pay for health insurance the less they will hire which does not create incentive for companies to hire.
