Right Change: The Economy According to President Obama

At a speech in Mansfield, Ohio this Wednesday President Barack Obama explained how he thinks the economy grows. Of course everyone knows Obama believes big government is the answer. However, Obama actually goes into some specifics on exactly how that happens at this economic speech in the swing state of Ohio.

(Related from The Blaze: “we tried our plan and it worked – as manufacturing shrank.)

Here are some transcripts via the White House and TheBlaze.com.

"If we’re investing in roads and bridges, putting some hard-hats back to work, getting our steelworkers back to work — (applause) — they’ve got more money to spend.  Maybe they buy that new computer.  Maybe they decide to take a little vacation. And all that money circulates in the economy and it makes us all grow."

Even after his so called gaff, Obama is still pushing his view that roads and bridges are what the economy is built on. There are two main points when it comes to this way of thinking. First, were there not successful small businesses before major roads were being built? Of course there were. It was the American pioneer who blazed trails, set up towns and opened businesses long before any government was building roads. Second, if roads and bridges were the key to success then every business on a major road would be doing just fine. Anyone can drive down just about any road in America and see empty space after empty space where there is no business to fill.

“So here’s the bottom line, Ohio.  If you believe that their plan — Mr. Romney’s plan and his congressional allies — if you genuinely believe that that plan will make you better off, if you believe it’s okay for them to tell us just to set our sights lower, or to settle for something less, then by all means, send these folks back to Washington for the next few years.”

This may be the most stunning paragraph of all. President Obama does realize that he is the current President, right? So when he says “just set our sights lower…settle for something less, then by all means, send the folks back to Washington for the next few years,” he is talking about himself.

Obama has been quite effective over the last four years at increasing our national debt, lowering our standing internationally, getting our credit rating downgraded, passing the largest tax increase ever in the history of the world and won the medal for the worst unemployment record since the great depression. So yes, if you want to settle for less, send these folks back to Washington for the next few years.
