RightChange: Obama Needs To “Do The Math” On Debt

Today marks President Obama’s third round in the bully pulpit where he preached to the American public in an effort to sell his “tax the rich proposal” to the American people.  The past couple of weeks have been filled with back and forth on the best way to solve our massive debt crisis and unfortunately, the only thing Mr. Obama has brought to the debt table has been misinformation, miscalculations, and magniloquence.  His plan, if you even want to call it that, is to raise taxes on the wealthy in a deal that will carry him into 2013, leaving the debt ceiling issue out of the 2012 elections.

Republicans have held firm that taxing the wealthy more gives Obama the green light for more spending and stunts job growth.  Obama says that if we don’t spread the wealth, it will result in government programs being shut down.  At the last presser, Obama said that the weather service could be shut down and food inspections may be halted if we didn’t mandate the wealthy to give up more.  This is one of the most misleading things Mr. Obama has said over the course of these few weeks.  When the government raises taxes on a business, the business makes it up by downsizing, better known as letting go of employees.

On Friday, Obama said the American people are sold on tax increases.  Exactly, what country does he think he’s running?  The last time we checked, Americans were hardly satisfied with the 9.2% record unemployment rate.  It would also be helpful for BHO to cite what polls he is referencing because according to Gallup and Rasmussen, his Math was way off:

Gallup:

Twenty percent favor an approach that relies only on spending cuts and 4% favor an approach that uses tax increases alone.

Rasmussen:

“As the Beltway politicians try to figure out how they will raise the debt ceiling and for how long, most voters oppose including tax hikes in the deal.  Just 34% think a tax hike should be included in any legislation to raise the debt ceiling. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 55% disagree and say it should not.”

The American people know better: tax hikes will do nothing other than give Obama an incentive to spend more and cause businesses to stop creating jobs.  It’s time for Obama to “Do the Math”: cut spending and create an environment where businesses can create jobs.

Can he read?! 20 percent would prefer JUST spending cuts and ONLY 4 percent want to increase taxes… looks like you’ve got your answer Obama!

Ya know, sometimes you’ve just got to wonder who exactly our President is working for. If it really is the United States of America, then he sure has a weird way of showing that.

I think he should cut off food stamps because A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE LIVING OF THE SYSTEM, and their to lazy to work! A family of which has 3 kids should not receive 500+ Not mentioning the other money those people get. I do not know if homeless people get money too. But if they do then they should get a job in McDonalds or something. And this economy would get better if they let the immigrants get papers!! A lot of them are here to work, they don’t do anything bad unless people are mean to them. Plus if they throw them away of the country, then who is going to do the job they did. Which I know for a fact is hard and they get low pay. But at least they do go around asking for money!
