RightChange: More Voter Dissatisfaction With GOP Field?
Wed, January 25, 2012Recent arguments between the two GOP front-runners are the latest example of voter dissatisfaction. At least that is how you can perceive the latest Rasmussen poll:
“While many pundits have taken to describing the race for the Republican nomination as a two-man competition, a third of all voters nationwide think it would be good for the GOP if someone else jumped into the fray.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 34% of Likely U.S. Voters think it would be good for Republicans if another candidate entered the race for the party’s presidential nomination. But nearly as many (31%) say it would be bad for the party, while 24% believe it would have no impact. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)”
Former head of the RNC says the possibility of another contender jumping in the race is stupid:
“Former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele said the idea that another GOP presidential contender could enter the race in February is “just outright stupid.”
“There are 13 states after Florida that still have deadlines that are open, that haven’t been reached yet and anyone can jump in — but that means you’re only on the ballot in 13 states,” Steele told The Daily Caller in the spin room after Monday night’s GOP debate in Tampa.
“I think any conversation about having someone else come into this race at this point is not even feasible, it’s just outright stupid.”
At the end of the day, these voters may need to figure out whom they will be more dissatisfied with. A Republican President or Barack Obama.
