Right Change: Pelosi Says Obamacare Represents “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”

House Democratic Leader, Nancy Pelosi, defended Obamacare today, linking it to the likes of the Declaration of Independence. She said Obama’s landmark healthcare legislation represents “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Watch her jaw-dropping remarks below:

Ironically, she said this on the same day a poll was released that proved more than two-thirds of Americans hope the Supreme Court will overturn some or all of Obama’s healthcare law:

“Forty-one percent of respondents said they want the court to undo the entire law, while another 27 percent said it should strike the individual mandate to buy health insurance but leave the rest of the law intact.

The poll showed little change in public opinion since March, when the court considered constitutional challenges to the law in a marathon week of hearings.

Its decision is sure to color the presidential race as Americans remain sharply divided over the health care law, largely along party lines.

The law is also unpopular among independent voters, with nearly three-fourths saying they hope the court overturns at least some of it, while 20 percent said all of it should be upheld.”

Newsflash Pelosi: Americans didn’t want the law in the first place and they sure don’t want it now that they have seen the effects of the law. How exactly is limiting your choice of healthcare options representative of life? How exactly is the government forcing you to buy something representative of liberty? And lastly, do skyrocketing premiums truly enable us to pursue happiness? Our founding fathers poured their blood, sweat, and tears into the Declaration of Independence so that the government couldn’t get their hands on personal matters such as the patient-doctor relationship. The Declaration of Independence was written precisely to protect us from Obamacare itself.

This is what the Democratic party is all about: making government involvement the solution to our problems while saying it’s all in the name of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If we are to have a shot at getting our nation back to the freedoms it was founded on, we must ensure that Pelosi and the Democrats don’t come back to Washington come November.
