Number of Women Not in Labor Force at Historic High
Fri, May 18, 2012While Democrats and especially the Obama Administration is still trying to proliferate the idea that Republicans are waging a war on women, the real truth is starting to become even clearer. Obama’s attempt to create this fictitious war in order to distract from his failed economic policies is starting to seriously backfire.
CNSnews.com reports that 324,000 women have dropped out of the labor force in the last two months. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics that puts the number of women out of work at a historic all time high of 53,321,000. According to the CNS report,
This year (in both January and April), only 57.6 percent of the women in the civilian population were in the labor force. That is the lowest rate of labor force participation by American women since April 1993, according to historical data maintained by BLS.
This report also shows that for both males and females combined, the rate of participation in the labor force dropped to 63.6 percent in April—the lowest rate since December 1981. Recently, however, women have been leaving the labor force in larger numbers than men.
Unfortunately, this is another truth that the mainstream media is ignoring and refusing to cover. A quick Google search of “women drop out of labor force” will show that not one mainstream media outlet has covered this story. I went to the fifth page on Google and could not find one mention of it by a major media outlet.
The American Thinker did get it right when it stated,
What makes the percentage of people working a more accurate measurement is its fluctuation from month to month. The ups and downs are far more indicative of the true state of the availability of jobs in America, which makes this figure regarding the number of women dropping out of the labor force worrisome. Many women give the household a second income that usually means the difference between staying afloat and sinking into debt, foreclosure, and poverty. Even if it's only part-time work, that little extra every month affects quality of life and the comfort level of families across the country.
Americans cannot allow the mainstream media and the administration to do two things in this election. First, we cannot let the mainstream media cover up the truth of what is really going on with the economy. We must not allow them to distract us from the things that are truly important. Secondly, we cannot let them distort the truth conveniently. As citizens we must stay vigilant and talk with our circles of influence to make sure they know the real truth.
the problem with your article is that women hold public sector jobs ( such as teachers secretaries and temps) also men lost there jobs at the start of the economic downturn because they work in industries such as construction and buisness you wont post this because you scared of the facts but the moderator reading this I hope i gave you a little bit of knowledge to go with those fabrication
