RightChange: Obama’s State of the Union

Posted by Right Change — Wed, January 25 at 3:02PM

There is something quite magical about President Obama’s speeches.  As he talks about “fairness,” “equality,” and America’s “greatness,” our minds drift to a place where times were pleasing.  We reflect upon the times where we looked forward to picking our destination for our family vacations instead of dreading how we are going to pay for it.  We remember what it’s like to be conflicted on which job offer to accept instead of clinging on to any job because of the rough economy.

RightChange: Mitt Romney’s Tax Returns

Posted by Right Change — Tue, January 24 at 11:44AM

The trap is set.  Mitt Romney released his tax returns and Obama and his team are ready to use it against him.   The Washington Post got the first glimpse into Romney’s anticipated tax record and they are nothing out of the ordinary.  Romney’s returns prove one thing: he has abided by the laws of our broken tax code and our government will never do anything about it.

RightChange: Romney Pays More Than 15% In Taxes

Posted by Right Change — Fri, January 20 at 7:01PM

After countless demands from his competition, Mitt Romney released his federal tax rate: 15%.  This gave TEAM Obama the open door to criticize Romney for being a vulture capitalist who pays less than his secretary in taxes.  However, a recent article from the Wall Street Journal shows that there are a lot more taxes where that 15% came from.  Romney knows this, but he has done a poor job of explaining it.

President Obama’s $40 campaign against Republicans must have worked. The White House urged people to “share what a $40 paycheck means to them.” The President held a “Do-nothing Republican” bashing earlier. And Mitch McConnell demanded the House to pass the Senate bill. This was all apparently enough to make Speaker Boehner crack.

RightChange: Senator Reid and Obama REFUSE to Pass The Payroll Holiday They Originally Wanted

Posted by Right Change — Wed, December 21 at 6:17PM

President Obama asked for a year-long payroll holiday.  The House passed a year- long payroll compromise. Then the Senate Democrats changed the rules completely and passed a temporary 2-month extension last weekend and left town for their holiday recess.  The House is causing a standstill in Washington right now, and for good reason.  Two payroll system groups have already said a temporary tax holiday will be costly on employees and employers while causing “substantial problems.”  For some strange reason President Obama and the Democrats are demanding the House to pass the two-month extension anyway.

RightChange: House Blocks Senate Dem’s Temporary Payroll Extension

Posted by Right Change — Tue, December 20 at 5:20PM

The House GOP voted to reject the Senate Democrats two-month temporary payroll tax holiday earlier today and called on President Obama to get the Senate Democrats back into town.  President Obama said that a temporary payroll holiday “is the only viable way to prevent a tax hike January 1st.” He also demanded Republicans compromise on the bill.  We already wrote yesterday about how the Senate bill is hardly a compromise.  Today, we will write about how it is not a “viable way.”
