Obamacare Enrollment for 2015 to be Delayed a Month
Washington is a mess. And the effects of that mess are not just affecting the life of millions; they are changing the direction of our entire country. Since the Democrats took over the majority in Washington, our country has seen a massive shift from a nation of freedom and prosperity to regulations and government dependence. Somehow they have managed to justify a $17 trillion debt, found a way to skirt their constitutional responsibility to pass a budget each year, and regulate the way the private sector does business. They’ve even managed to get away with telling individuals what type of healthcare is best for them: 65 year old men need maternity care. How have they possibly continued on this path of intrusion without an uprising? We may have an answer and it’s all in the name of the...
Will the fallout from the government shutdown cost the GOP their majority in the House? That’s not just what polls, pundits, and the leader of the Senate is arguing, it happens to be precisely what the Democrats want. Their main goal is to obtain the Triple Crown for the last 2 years that President Obama is in office so that they can do what they did the last time they had it. One word: train wreck. If Democrats take back the majority in each branch, Americans need to be prepared for the consequences.
Since Barack Obama took office, the government has become one of the largest conglomerates in the world. The answer to each economic crisis we’ve faced under him has been: stimulus, bailouts, takeovers, spending, taxes, and regulations. Our current fiscal problem on the docket is our nearly $17 trillion debt. President Obama and the Democrats have publically stated that they want a “clean” debt ceiling increase. Someone needs to quickly remind them there’s nothing clean about increasing the limit on our nation’s credit card without any spending reductions.
Three years ago, Steve Jobs oversaw the debut of Apple’s iPhone4. As consumers got excited for the stunning new ability to Facetime, the outrage grew as they soon realized they had no reception once they gripped the edge of their new iPhone. In response to this major glitch, Apple issued a statement advising customers to, "avoid gripping the phone in the lower left corner" when making or receiving a call. Consequently and rightfully so, lawsuits arose against Apple for fraud by concealment, negligence, intentional misrepresentation and defective design. Later that very day, Apple issued another statement saying they discovered exactly what caused the glitch and would issue a fix as soon as possible. They also provided a free bumper device to all consumers who had this problem and were...
President Obama is stubborn to a fault. Plenty of people have this character flaw, but it is magnified times 1000 when applied to the leader of the free world. Our President should be a powerful negotiator, forging bonds wherever possible—especially within the United States government. Unfortunately, Obama has a distinct inability to lay his arrogant inflexibility to the side, even for the good of the nation.
The most recent and relevant example is his refusal to negotiate on the debt ceiling. He refuses to budge or bat an eye on the subject, even as his relationships with John Boehner and Eric Cantor quickly turn to rubble. These two important Republican leaders publicly supported the President on military action in Syria, a position to which House Republicans stood strongly opposed....
Four years ago, Obama promised the following about healthcare: “if we fail to act, one out of every five dollars we earn will be spent on health care within a decade.” A horrible prospect, so it’s no wonder that so many people got on board with the Affordable Care Act, and that is was passed within the year.
However, there’s one small problem with the President’s “solution:” it has created exactly the problem he warned against.
“On Wednesday, CMS actuaries released their latest projections, finding that by 2022, health spending will rise to 19.9 percent of gross domestic product — or almost exactly one out of five dollars, which is what Obama warned it would be without action. Over the course of the next decade, according to projections, the law will...
